Keaton’s four year portrait
Posted by Rob on Jan 14, 2011 in Baby & Children Portraits | 0 commentsA very classic look is what we call the three quarter profile pose. When I photographed Keaton today, I thought I’d try my luck at this pose. Not always an easy one to achieve. The lighting, the expression, the overall pose needs to be just so, and with little boys and portraits, I only have so much time. In this case I used a stuffed Barney doll and placed it strategically so when he looked over it was the angle I wanted. Keaton had placed his hands earlier under his chin. I noticed, and thought it looked natural, and not too ‘posed’, so I asked him to do it again. Comes natural vs posing, don’t you agree? We chatted about motors, Xmas, his dog, his dad’s truck and schoolbuses….until he stood up and sighed. Then I knew we were done. That’s okay! I got what I needed, and Keaton getsĀ a toy and treat for being patient…
