Made it back to Nova Scotia
Posted by Rob on Jul 17, 2009 in Travel | 0 commentsAfter arriving in Port o Basque we boarded the ferry and made our way to Cape Breton. Got in at about 11:30 and chatted with some truckers. Funny stories. One of them hit moose 4 weeks prior and had $40,000.00 damage to the rig. We rode into the town of Sydney and stopped at Timmies.
Chatted with some local folks until about 2:00am and then decided to get a room. Nothing, nada, all booked out! So we pitched our tents in the downtown park. I was scared to get busted by the cops, so didn’t sleep much. Got up early, headed to Timmies for breakie and coffee.
Then, made our way to Antigonish. My mom is from Antigonish and I have many memories of visiting my grandma, cousins and aunts. I drove my first ever motorcycle here in 1994 and it was one of the best trips of my life. The Highlands games are on so may check out some of that…..
