The long walks on Tamarindo’s dusty roads…

January 21, 2017

Here’s a familiar scene we’ve become used to over the years. Tina and I have walked these roads in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, so many times we’re become familiar with every detail.

And this includes the other people you meet along the way…..surfers, couples, strollers, locals, many dogs, iguanas and the occasional monkey.

Walking is good for the health. And the soul. It’s why we do it. Even when a car is accessible.

The contrast is very stark compared to back home, where we find we drive everywhere. Often for no other reason other than we’re in a hurry (or so we think) or we’re used to it.

Sometimes you gotta walk just for the sake of walking. Indeed, it helps when the weather is so exquisite.

Painted portraits are here….

Always loved a good old fashioned classic portrait….well done, with a “painted” renaissance look to it. So I decided to finally introduce this look to our mix of studio offerings….more to come…

Costa Rica anyone?

January 20, 2014 By robprov 5 Comments

Friends.…Tina and I are currently in Costa Rica for 60 days…. As they say here, Pura Vida. We do love it here so. The people, the sun, the beaches… One thing I hear all the time when someone comes to visit here: “I love it! And would go back”. It’s what happened to us when […]

I photographed these siblings way back…now they’re older, and it’s cool to add mom in the photo…(she even looks young enough to be a sibling…) First image shot with mom’s smart phone at her home of the first session I created years ago….

Peek a boo behind the belly….

Sometimes the best shots happen. Out of nowhere. And I need to be ready. Ready with camera and ready mentally prepared…always anticipating the unknown and unexpected. When you’re photographing a 4 year old, although they are relatively easy enough, they do have a limit, so to speak. A point in time where they decide, ok, […]
